PM’s Department lodges police report against media

PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister’s Department has lodged a police report against several newspapers for publishing the Royal Commission of Inquiry report on the V.K. Lingam video clip before it was made public.
It is learnt that a senior official from the PM’s Department lodged the report at the Putrajaya police headquarters yesterday morning.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm II Ku Chin Wah confirmed that a report had been lodged but declined to elaborate.
It is learnt that the police will investigate the case under the Official Secrets Act (OSA).
The Star and several other newspapers as well as online news portals had published findings of the inquiry and its recommendations several days ago.
Yesterday, the Cabinet agreed to make the commission’s findings public. The report costing RM541.60 will be available from Tuesday.
