10 Days to LHDN Income Tax Submission
Only 10 days remain for you to make the LHDN income tax submission. You can either do it manually or through the e-Filing online application before the 30 April 2008 deadline.
Last year, tax payers swarmed the LHDN offices to complete their income tax submission in the last minute, and the last LHDN office to close on the deadline was 12 in the midnight.
Unless you want to have the face fate - going through hours of queuing up, waiting and waiting until you get attended, you should draw your strategy now.
The e-Filing will be facing some critical bottlenecking issue towards the end of the deadline (read article: 1 Million to Use e-Filing this year), so you have to be quick, and find some odd hours (e.g. early in the weekend’s morning) to avoid disappointment and any possibility of error or time out in processing.
e-Filing is easy - very much easier than the manual filing in the sense that you don’t need to do calculation and re-calculation for any amendment in figures/numbers. The e-Filing will do it for you. What you need to do is chunking in the numbers in the right boxes, make a cup of coffee and let the system calculate your tax amount.
For those in Penang, the Penang HASIL are kind enough to open their offices daily, including during weekend to allow users file their income through e-Filing. 40 computers are available for use, which are available from 8am to 5pm on week days and 10am to 5pm on weekends. Counters are also opened in major shopping complexes including Tesco, Giant (Bayan Baru) and Tesco Extra in Sungai Dua.
